Poor has extensive experience in the renewable energy sector. He has worked in the ethanol, biodiesel, algae and wind energy industries. He has represented companies, manufacturers, R&D firms, project developers, individual investors, shareholder groups and economic development agencies. He is committed to growth in Green Economy. Poor is veteran of four renewable energy startups. He is dedicated to serving the needs of renewable energy and clean technology entrepreneurs. From 2007 to 2010, Poor was Corporate Counsel and Assistant Secretary for Green Plains Renewable Energy (NASDAQ: GPRE), the nation’s largest publicly-traded ethanol producer. Poor was development counsel in construction of ethanol plants in Iowa. He also served as in-house counsel in merger with VBV LLC and acquisition of two former Verasun ethanol plant assets. Poor helped secure grant funding to build an algae pilot project utilizing ethanol plant carbon dioxide and wastewater. Poor has represented shareholder groups in ethanol and biodiesel projects. He has provided due diligence M&A advisory services and serves as expert witness in litigation related to biofuel project development. Poor has worked as attorney and advisor to wind developers in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Colorado. He has handled wind siting and land management matters.
